SELC Ireland Ltd (SELC Eire Teoranta) is founded in Belmullet, Co Mayo, Ireland by Mr Sean Noone.  

SELC launches the ‘Long Life’ (>25 years ) photocell (SELC 8481) with a patented light sensor that for the first time accurately mimicked the human eyes response to light.


  

SELC opens its first manufacturing facility (10,000 sqmts) in Ireland with assistance from the Irish Government.

SELC becomes the first Irish SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) to get ISO 9001 Approval (IS EN – ISO 9001. 2008).

  

SELC opens its first overseas office in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

   SELC launches the most accurate solar time clock in the world (SELC Set 45) allowing street lights to be controlled in line with the sun’s position in the sky at any point of longitude or latitude on the globe.

SELC wins An Taoiseach (Prime Ministers) National Innovation Award (Ireland).

  

SELC launches the world’s first (dimmable) electronic ballast (SELC 2000 range 50-150Watt).

SELC launches its Street light Central Monitoring Solution (CMS) called Candelon using powerline communications technology.

 

SELC partners with Streetlight Vision (SLV) in Paris, France and begins the roll-out of over 14 separate SELC installations over the next 2 years.

SELC wins the EU ‘Green Light’ award for its work on the e-street program – The first full-scale intelligent street lighting installation in Oslo, Norway – the first of its kind in the world.


  

ESB (Ireland’s largest utility company) takes a strategic shareholding in the company through its cleantech investment arm – Novus Modus.

  

New Headquarters opened in Q House, Sandyford, Dublin, Ireland with integrated R&D laboratories.
